Dramatists play service submissions

Desk copies are limited to complimentary book for every books purchased. You must order a minimum of copies to qualify. The committee typically prefers articles that offer something they feel is of interest to the general membership and that include more than one point of view. Dramatists Play Service, Inc. Regional playwrights are given first consideration. Submissions preferred in stageplay format. The goal is simple: to provide free access to theatre for playwrights, composers and lyricists.

Plays that have been submitted to 21st Century Voices in the past two years are not eligible. Local, national, and international playwrights are encouraged to submit. We will take this time to restructure the program in better alignment with our commitment to upholding principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all our practices.

CURRENTLY DRAMATIC PUBLISHING IS NOT ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS. Each year American Blues Theater accepts worldwide submissions of original, unpublished full-length plays. The playwright receives a monetary prize of $250.

The winning play will be selected by Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and the theater’s Ensemble. Cash prizes are awarded to finalists and semi-finalists too. Manuscripts must be typed and in standard script format. My plays have been performed times over the past years, and many of these are due to the help of PSH. This initiative provides free access to performances for working playwrights, composers, and lyricists throughout the country.
