External customer service definition

Which financial statement would you utilize to determine whether a company will be able to pay liabilities which are due in days? The phrase external customer service refers to what most people simply see as customer service. The word external emphasizes that you are talking about clients or customers who choose to purchase.


For example, a person who goes to a retail store and buys merchandise, visitors that visit the attractions, the guests that stay in hotels, the diners that eat in restaurants are external customers. An external customer is a customer who purchases a company’s products or services but is not an employee or part of the organization.

Businesses spend most of their time meeting the needs of external customers to ensure satisfaction. What is an example of an external customer? What are some examples of external customers? What does external customers mean? These are the people or organizations that buy what an individual or an organization sells.


External customers are what Webster probably had in mind in formulating his definition. To be clear, an external customer is a person who is not directly connected to your organization other than by purchasing your product or service. This customer could be a one-time purchaser or a person your work with long-term, providing add-ons or customization options.

It is what a company does to meet and exceed customer expectations. Most often, our perception of customer service usually begins and remains focused on the end users who patronize our business. These end users are our external customers. In different terms, they are purchasers of the products’ (service) of that business but in no way affiliated with the company.


These may also pertain to customers who purchase or rent products that are not of the same company, but they are affiliated in the same industry. Internal customer service , then, is about serving your employees. He does not have any contact with the company or the organization and acts as the end-user or consumer of a product.


Actually, an external customer is the main target of a company or an organization. Most people understand that “customer service” refers to serving those who purchase a product or service. That’s “External Customer Service”. But what about “Internal Customer Service”.
