Fire Science is a cooperative program between IỊisaġvik College and the North Slope Borough (NSB) Fire Department. Subsequent training enhances the knowledge and skills first learned here. This curriculum is designed to provide individuals with the principles, theory, and practices associated with state- of -the-art fire science and management, including issues related to tactical fire operations, fire safety, firefighting and emergency services leadership and management, and community fire issues. The rotation will introduce the student to the clinical practice of emergency medicine.
The rotation is a six-week, experientially oriented program where the student will have been exposed to a broad representation of medical and surgical problems encountered in an emergency department.
