Education service district

Educational Service Districts (ESD) ESD 101. Our agency creates educational equity across the county by expanding early learning opportunities, serving the county’s most vulnerable students in special education , convening education leaders, providing professional development to educators, and more. CGES is one of nineteen regional education agencies established by the state legislature to provide services to school districts and to promote equal educational opportunity throughout the state.

What does an education service district do? What is educational service agency? The Douglas ESD plays many roles in serving children.


Our programs help districts minimize duplication of services , preserve their local budgets and receive special programs that might otherwise be unavailable to them. Oregon established education service districts (ESDs) to provide support to public school districts in their regions. There are ESDs across the state.


We are proud to partner with the school districts, businesses, and community members across our region, all working tirelessly each day to assure that each student has access to the best education.

ESD 1work reflects three focus areas: operations expertise, student successand healthy communities. Remote Learning Resources. Our mission is to respond to the educational needs of Lakeview, Adel, Plush, Paisley and North Lake school districts. Through a collaborative effort with Columbia Gorge, Multnomah and Willamette education service districts, we also provide technology services to school districts. This effort is known as the Cascade Technology Alliance (CTA) and has helped us enhance quality while reducing costs.


Through CTA, we also provide substitute services for districts. Organizationally different from a school district , a single ESD in Washington serves dozens of school districts. ESDs are established to allow school districts to work, plan, and buy equipment collectively.


ISDs are regional service agencies that offer support services to school personnel that are best delivered regionally, as measured by cost, size, and quantity advantages. District and school leaders are confronting difficult, high-stakes decisions as they plan for how to reopen schools amid a global pandemic. But the district currently has a student-to-nurse ratio of 500-to- according to the teachers union. The union has long called for additional nurses and counselors for the district.
