My speeding ticket is not in the system

If the charge has not appeared by January, check with the court upon your return. I tried to access the online system to pay my ticket , but it says my ticket number is invalid. I also called the traffic court where they handle this, and the lady says my ticket is not yet in their system and that perhaps I should wait a bit because the officer may not have handed in the ticket.
