Smiling customer service

It’s a simple gesture that radiates outwards into every aspect of a business, from the CEO down to employees and stays with customers long after they finish shopping. The importance of a smile at work can’t be understated. Just how important is a smile to customer service ? Customer service agents should be reminded to smile while they are talking, or begin smiling before they even start to speak.


A positive attitude is infectious Even if a customer calls and has an angry attitude, if they are greeted with a smiling voice , it can be contagious, and diffuse the negative emotions. A smile matters, A LOT!

I think due to the recent economic decline, business are going to have to work a little harder to keep my business and courteous customer service is the best way. It only takes a little bit of extra effort. I know that when I go somewhere. A pleasant smile and a friendly manner makes up for many things. If you smile and treat people in a friendly way, they will be more patient with you and also respond in a friendly way to you.


Greet each customer as if you're glad they are there. Smile as much as possible. Always apologize when the customer is not happy.

Step one is a simple smile and a hello when someone walks in the door. Step two is just as easy and effective. Ask how you can help someone. This mood will relate to the person, that gave him support. If another problem occurs, customer will contact you without hesitation and with better attitude.
